Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well, I hope that you all had a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday!! 

We threw a big Thanksgiving party here at our house. We had about 50 or so people here. There was a bunch of food (of course), music and dancing. Also there were a couple songs sung that some of us wrote for Thanksgiving.

Soccer and random pictures

Some of my family and friends joined a Mexican soccer league in Tahlequah, they joined in the beginning of this past spring. We made our own team and called it "800-How-True". We did not make it to the playoffs in the spring season but made it to the playoffs in the fall season. About a week ago we played our first game in the playoffs, but lost to the first placed team, thus we were kicked out of the playoffs. On Sunday we had a friendly game against another team that we had won 4-0 during the soccer season. We lost to them this time 3-4.
We watched the two semi-final games yesterday also, 2 teams played before our game and 2 teams played after our game. The first game was not as exciting as the second game. The second game was Chilango's vs Municipal (we all cheered for Municipal). They played the regular two 40 minute halves, when those two halves ended it went into over time, which means they have two 10 minute halves . . . it was still tied after the 20 extra minutes . . so it went into penalty-kicks. Municipal got all 4 shots in the net and Chilango's only got 2 of their 4 shots in the net . . . . . so WOOHOO to Municipal . . . . they won!! We'll see if they win the Finals next weekend.

Lambs and new sheep!!

I know it has been awhile since I posted last. I thought I would give everybody an update on the sheep.

On Friday, September 23rd, 2011 we bought 2 light chocolate colored Katahdin (I believe they are Katahdins from what they look like) ewes from the Warren Livestock auction in Leach, OK. They are 2 beautiful HUGE ewes, with great conformation and nice big meaty butts and bodys. On Saturday, September 17th, 2011 Black Mesa lambed to a single black and white ram lamb. The sire to the lamb is one of our Painted Desert rams, named Gomez. On Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 Sierra Blanca lambed to a single tri-colored ram lamb. Then on Friday, October 16th, 2011 we bought two really nice rams. One is a really nice, big black and white Katahdin/Dorper cross ram with great conformation and is very nicely built with a meaty body. His name is Diamond. He is coming up on 3 years old. The 2nd one is also a very nice, big red Katahdin ramling with excellent conformation and is nicely built with a very muscular body. I don't know his age, but he is very young still, he has no mane and his face still looks like a baby. I believe he is around 3 to 4 months old. We tried to breed him to one of our ewes and he is still to young to breed, which means he is real young because Katahdin rams usually try to breed at 4 to 6 months of age. His name is Big Salmon.

MORE heifers!!

Well, just doing a quick post . . . me and my mom and a few of my siblings went to the Stilwell Livestock Auction on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 again. And we came home with 5 heifers. 1 thin Longhorn, 1 Holstein heifer and 3 Angus heifer young calves. These heifers are for sale and also the brown and white Longhorn heifer (in the last two pictures of this post) is for sale . . . . E-mail (kim@goodgoat.net) or call for more info 918-598-4007.

BIG RANCH UPDATE!!

Okay. I know I am a cheezer, because I have not posted for awhile. BUT, we have been REALLY busy. As always :) Life is always going to be busy, when there are 13 people in the family, more than 400 animals, goats, sheep and rabbits birthing, milking about 28 goats twice a day, feeding animals and people, making sure all the animals have clean water, shearing sheep, dealing with a broken goat leg and a needy broken arm sister, dealing with a completely blind sheep for a month or more that got pink eye REALLY bad, trying to catch when the goats and sheep are coming into heat so that we can breed them (since it has been sooo hard to tell when they are in heat for some reason this year), making sure none of the animals are sick or have something wrong with them. . . . . etc.

Kitty Boy our 8 year old male cat, passed away several weeks back :(  We've had Kitty Boy since he was a kitten in California. And then, we brought him out from California with us in July of 2008. 

We got a little female kitten a couple months back. Her name is Trixis (a yellow flower name), though we call her "Little Kitten". She is very cute and pretty and comes when I call her. She has white/cream coloring with light orange ears, feet/legs and tail with blue eyes. I am the care taker of the kitten - I feed her, water her and shut her up in a little crate with a blanket usually every night.

Thursday, September 2nd, 2011, me and some of my family where at a cattle sale, and we got a phone call from my family at home saying there was a goat with a broken back leg. They had carried her to a stall with water and hay. She was eating and acting very well for how bad the break was and was even putting a tiny bit of pressure on the leg. We have no idea how she broke her leg. This doe is an 18 month old Alpine/Nubian doe, her name is Cleopatra. She is a very, very big, healthy doe. On Sunday August 1st, 2011 me, my dad and a few of my siblings went down to Texas to get about 25 goats and 10 sheep. We got back home with the goats and sheep at about 1:40 am Monday morning. On Wednesday, September 2nd, 2011 me and some of my family went to the Stilwell cattle auction and bought 4 heifers. 1 black Angus heifer that we put back on a bottle, 1 long horn heifer, 

1 Charolais heifer and another black heifer with a white face.
