Ron Paul Will Lead The Way ~ Song and Music Video

I know this is not necessarily farm related, but really if you think about it, it all involves our freedoms and how we live, and this is why we made this video and song, so that we can tell you and inform you about Ron Paul and why he should be our next president.

Whether you are for Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul or not, please watch this short video, as it is a powerful message about the United States. My good friends wrote (and sung) this song, my sister put the music video together. It is really worth a few minutes of your time. Please feel free to share it far and wide as well.

And also if you are not for Ron Paul already, PLEASE PLEASE really think about voting for Ron Paul and how he will truly give us all our freedoms back and let us do what we want to do, he will not do

what Barack Obama and the other three Republican Presidential Candidates are doing, like telling us what we can and can not do.

An Interesting Kidding

Why Ron Paul for President

As you very well know if you are a regular reader of my blog, you probably have noticed by now that I don't really talk about political things. But, now is the time to

"talk" about politics.

This year, 2012, is an election year. Our country is in bad shape - in extreme debt, a very bad economy, lack of jobs, too big of a government and abortion is legal (how sick). Since Obama became president, our country has gone a downhill slide of more and more debt and big government. This country needs help.

With the 2012 Presidential Election coming up this November, it is very important that you research and make an informed vote. Get out and vote. Let your voice be heard . . . don't be one of those people that think "oh, just one less vote won't do anything" because, if everyone thought that than there would be nobody elected as president.

President Obama is running for re-election. We certainly DON'T want him as President for ANOTHER 4 years. The other Republican candidates are more of the same - big government, bad foreign policies, etc.
The only candidate running for office who is actually different than Obama and all the other GOP candidates is Texas Congressman Ron Paul. He has been saying the same thing for 30+ years. He is an OB/GYN who has delivered over 4,000 babies. He wants to Restore Freedom to America and he has a PLAN to do so. He is not more of the same.
Ron Paul wants to, restore Freedom to Americans, bring our troops home (so that they are not fighting wars which America cannot afford and that are not approved by the people [Congress]), cut $1 TRILLION dollars in the first year, repeal ObamaCare, follow the Constitution and return power to the States and the People, abolish the IRS and Federal Reserve (get rid of taxes!), repeal Roe v. Wade, cut the president's pay to just under $40,000, make a stronger military and LOTS MORE!!

In 2011 Ron Paul also received more donations from active military personnel than all other Republican candidates and Obama combined. I think that says something right there.

Also, some may wonder why I, as young as I am, am so passionate about political things. Why? Because I care about the future of our country. All things being equal, what happens now will affect my generation much more than any other. And if I want to have a part and change this country for the better, then ALL of us need to get out and care, not just sit back and do nothing.

Stand up for freedom and liberty. If you would like to run your own business, run a farm or do anything you want without the big goverment coming in and telling you what you can and cannot do than, PLEASE vote Ron Paul 2012!!

1st kids of the year!

Well, yesterday one of our big fat pregnant Boer does went into labor. She had two big beautiful kids just fine with no issues. One is a girl and one is a boy. The girl is dark brown and the boy is dark brown with black spots . . . very pretty kids. We do not know who the sire is, it looks like the sire was some kind of nubian or something like that.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!! We had a big party last night with all our friends . . . had a GREAT time . . . it was VERY fun and exciting! It was a very different type of party . . . the dress code was pajamas (I know, kinda strange:) ), and the theme of the party was singing (we had a karaoke and lip sync contest and also a few other singing type games). We also had a net, filled with balloons hanging from the rafters in the house.

Update on The Little Hills sheep!!

Well, I thought that I would give ya'll an update on the sheep. The ewes all started coming back into heat in September, so we started breeding them and have still been breeding ever since. Our first lambs are due on February 1st, 2012 . . .yes, February again . . . hopefully there is not 2 feet of snow on the ground like there was last lambing season in February! BUT, the good thing is, is we know when they are due and we have all the due dates marked on the calendar, so that we can bring them back in the big barn before they start having lambs in the snow, unlike last lambing season where there were 20 ewes or so that could be due anywhere from November to April!

We currently own 38 ewes (9 Katahdins, 5 cross breeds, 1 Tunis, 2 Finnish Landraces, 3 Jacobs, 14 Painted Deserts, 2 Desert Dragons and 2 Dorpers), 5 rams (2 Painted Deserts, 1 Desert Dragon, 1 Finnish Landrace and 1 Jacob/Texas Dall cross) and 2 ram lambs (1 Painted Desert and 1 Painted Desert/meat sheep cross).

~ Sheep for sale ~

We have 2 ram lambs for sale for $100 each. One is a registerable Panted Desert ramling, he was born on September 20th, 2011. His sire is Little Hills Gomez, one of our Painted Desert rams and his dam is Little Hills Sierra Blanca, one of our Painted Desert ewes.

The other one is a Painted Desert/meat sheep cross he was born on September 18th, 2011. His sire is Little Hills Gomez, a Painted Desert ram of ours and his dam is Black Mesa, a Painted Desert/Dorper cross (I believe) ewe of ours.

Lots and lots of baby bunnies!!

Well, we started breeding our Production White rabbits again in September since the weather cooled down. We have 18 breeding does and 2 bucks right now, 16 of the does are Production Whites and 2 are Altex does. 9 of the does have kits on them right now and the other 9 are either going to have babies within the next week of so, or are bred and will need to be palpated when they are 2 weeks along to see if they took. There are 4 litters that will be ready to be sold or butchered in about a week, that is the soonest we will have any ready to go, but there are litters still being born and we are still breeding bunnies.

New Barn!!!

We decided to expand our milking barn and kidding/lambing stalls. So we called a few different barn building companies to see what the cheapest price was to get a 30x50 barn installed. We chose to go with the MidAmerica Pole Barn Company since they were the cheapest. It took them about 2 and 1/2 days to build it . . . they did a great job and were great workers I'd say.

We are very thankful for it - especially to my Granny who made it possible!

Well, I hope that you all had a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday!!

We threw a big Thanksgiving party here at our house. We had about 50 or so people here. There was a bunch of food (of course), music and dancing. Also there were a couple songs sung that some of us wrote for Thanksgiving.

Soccer and random pictures

Some of my family and friends joined a Mexican soccer league in Tahlequah, they joined in the beginning of this past spring. We made our own team and called it "800-How-True". We did not make it to the playoffs in the spring season but made it to the playoffs in the fall season. About a week ago we played our first game in the playoffs, but lost to the first placed team, thus we were kicked out of the playoffs. On Sunday we had a friendly game against another team that we had won 4-0 during the soccer season. We lost to them this time 3-4.
We watched the two semi-final games yesterday also, 2 teams played before our game and 2 teams played after our game. The first game was not as exciting as the second game. The second game was Chilango's vs Municipal (we all cheered for Municipal). They played the regular two 40 minute halves, when those two halves ended it went into over time, which means they have two 10 minute halves . . . it was still tied after the 20 extra minutes . . so it went into penalty-kicks. Municipal got all 4 shots in the net and Chilango's only got 2 of their 4 shots in the net . . . . . so WOOHOO to Municipal . . . . they won!! We'll see if they win the Finals next weekend.

Lambs and new sheep!!

I know it has been awhile since I posted last. I thought I would give everybody an update on the sheep.

On Friday, September 23rd, 2011 we bought 2 light chocolate colored Katahdin (I believe they are Katahdins from what they look like) ewes from the Warren Livestock auction in Leach, OK. They are 2 beautiful HUGE ewes, with great conformation and nice big meaty butts and bodys. On Saturday, September 17th, 2011 Black Mesa lambed to a single black and white ram lamb. The sire to the lamb is one of our Painted Desert rams, named Gomez. On Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 Sierra Blanca lambed to a single tri-colored ram lamb. On Sunday, October 2nd, 2011 Star Mountain lambed to a single tri-colored ewe lamb. Then on Friday, October 16th, 2011 we bought two really nice rams. One is a really nice, big black and white Katahdin/Dorper cross ram with great conformation and is very nicely built with a meaty body. His name is Diamond. He is coming up on 3 years old. The 2nd one is also a very nice, big red Katahdin ramling with excellent conformation and is nicely built with a very muscular body. I don't know his age, but he is very young still, he has no mane and his face still looks like a baby. I believe he is around 3 to 4 months old. We tried to breed him to one of our ewes and he is still to young to breed, which means he is real young because Katahdin rams usually try to breed at 4 to 6 months of age. His name is Big Salmon.

MORE heifers!!

Well, just doing a quick post . . . me and my mom and a few of my siblings went to the Stilwell Livestock Auction on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 again. And we came home with 5 heifers. 1 thin Longhorn, 1 Holstein heifer and 3 Angus heifer young calves. These heifers are for sale and also the brown and white Longhorn heifer (in the last two pictures of this post) is for sale . . . . E-mail (kim@goodgoat.net) or call for more info 918-598-4007.

BIG RANCH UPDATE!!

Okay. I know I am a cheezer, because I have not posted for awhile. BUT, we have been REALLY busy. As always :) Life is always going to be busy, when there are 13 people in the family, more than 400 animals, goats, sheep and rabbits birthing, milking about 28 goats twice a day, feeding animals and people, making sure all the animals have clean water, shearing sheep, dealing with a broken goat leg and a needy broken arm sister, dealing with a completely blind sheep for a month or more that got pink eye REALLY bad, trying to catch when the goats and sheep are coming into heat so that we can breed them (since it has been sooo hard to tell when they are in heat for some reason this year), making sure none of the animals are sick or have something wrong with them. . . . . etc.

Kitty Boy our 8 year old male cat, passed away several weeks back :( We've had Kitty Boy since he was a kitten in California. And then, we brought him out from California with us in July of 2008.

We got a little female kitten a couple months back. Her name is Trixis (a yellow flower name), though we call her "Little Kitten". She is very cute and pretty and comes when I call her. She has white/cream coloring with light orange ears, feet/legs and tail with blue eyes. I am the care taker of the kitten - I feed her, water her and shut her up in a little crate with a blanket usually every night.

Thursday, September 2nd, 2011, me and some of my family where at a cattle sale, and we got a phone call from my family at home saying there was a goat with a broken back leg. They had carried her to a stall with water and hay. She was eating and acting very well for how bad the break was and was even putting a tiny bit of pressure on the leg. We have no idea how she broke her leg. This doe is an 18 month old Alpine/Nubian doe, her name is Cleopatra. She is a very, very big, healthy doe. On Sunday August 1st, 2011 me, my dad and a few of my siblings went down to Texas to get about 25 goats and 10 sheep. We got back home with the goats and sheep at about 1:40 am Monday morning. Ranch Update!!

I am FINALLY doing a post. Sorry for not posting sooner, it has been almost a month since I posted last. We have added MANY more animals to our ranch.

~ Six new goats ~

We got six new goats from the Warren Livestock Auction in Leach, OK on July 8th, 2011. Two of them are registered as Grade A Nubians and both of them are in milk and possibly bred to a Nubian buck. There names are Target and Stormy. The other four goats are BEAUTIFUL Nubian doelings from this year, two are a beautiful moon spotted brown color and the other two are a beautiful black color with two brown stripes down there faces, a little brown on the backs of there ears, a brown stripe down there neck, and under their belly is brown.

~ One new Katahdin ewe ~

On July 22nd, 2011 we got a big Katahdin ewe from the Warren Livestock Auction. She is big and fat, but her teeth look just a little older and she looks to be pregnant. I will try to post some pictures of her when I can.

Well, me, my dad and a few other siblings of mine went down to Windom, TX Sunday afternoon (August 1st, 2011) . We picked up 14 adult dairy does (7 in milk, 5 not in milk), 5 doelings, 7 bucklings and 10 hair sheep (3 rams and 7 ewes), from a goat dairy that was going out of business. The goats are all Alpines, Saanans, Lamanchas and 1 Nubian. And the sheep are Painted Deserts, Desert Sands and Mouflon crosses.

Happy July 4th!

Hope everyone had a happy 4th of July!! What we did for the 4th of July was go fishin', swimming and had a big party at our neighbor's house!! Sorry for not posting anything for awhile. We have been very busy up here on the ranch lately. Here is a quick update.

~ Sheep ~

We have about 60 sheep now. I can't even believe that we have that many sheep now!

17 new sheep ~

We got 17 new sheep Wednesday (March 16th, 2011). There were 3 Texas Dall rams, 3 Painted Desert rams, 3 December born Painted Desert ram lambs, 2 December born Painted Desert ewe lambs, 1 Texas Dall ewe, 4 Painted Desert ewes and 1 Katahdin ewe.

4 Finn lambs ~

We picked up 4 Finn bottle lambs on Friday, March 4th, 2011. There are 2 ewe lambs (Both the ewe lambs are all white) and 2 ram (one of the ram lambs is all white and the other is black and white) lambs. We plan to keep both the ewe lambs and the black and white ram lamb (we already sold the white ram lamb). They were born on Thursday, March 3rd, 2011. I will try to post pictures of them later when I can:)

We traded our Painted Desert ram (Little Hills Clyde) for a 4 horn Painted Desert (Desert Dragon) ramling, Strains Boulder. He is a VERY nice ram lamb with GREAT conformation. We got him on February 27th, 2011. He was born on October 10th, 2011. His sire is Strains Ringo Jester and his dam is Strains Roan Rebel. Spanish cross doe ~

We bought a REALLY nice and fat bred Spanish cross doe. She was part of a group of REALLY nice bred Spanish cross does. My brother bought her for $140 (that is a good deal for how nice she is). She kidded Wednesday (March 16th, 2011) afternoon to twins, one buckling and one doeling. They are VERY pretty kids, because they are both white with silver and brown.

Well, its been a little while since I posted last.

~ Meesha the new goat!
Meesha is a beautiful 2 year old Nubian doe that we got. She kidded about a week before we got her. Meesha is a tri-colored moon spotted doe (she is black, brown and white).

~ Rhia kidded!

~ Emory lambed!

This is our first lamb of 2011! Little Hills Emory, one of our Desert Sand ewes that we own, lambed January 22nd, 2011 in the late afternoon. I did not get to see this lamb be born (thankfully she had her just fine), oh well. I found her just a little bit after she was born (she was still wet when I found her). Emory had a single eweling. The eweling is a VERY pretty girl! She is red and white in color, she also has light red speckles on her body. Her sire is a Texas Dall ram with 40" horns.

~ Sad News. . . . :(

Well, January 23rd, 2011 was a sad event. Little Hills Little Maria (Painted Desert ewe) had bottle jaw for a little bit and was loosing weight. So we wormed her. The bottle jaw went away for a little, but she was still loosing weight and not looking good. She then got the bottle jaw back, came down with scours and was getting pretty weak. We put her in a separate pen and gave her some scour halt. On Sunday night when we were feeding the animals we went to check her and she was laying flat on the ground. We attempted to sit her up, but she just fell right back down (it was apparent she was going to die very soon). She was in with a HUGE Texas Dall ram for awhile and another ewe (Emory) that (was in with the same ram) just lambed Saturday (January 22nd, 2011). We figured that she was most likely bred and could lamb any day, we decided to put her down and do an emergency C-section on her to see if we could save any lambs. You only have 3 minutes to get the lamb out after the mother dies. We were able to get the lamb out in just over a minute. But, sad to say the lamb was premature :( It was a double sad event :( :( :( :( :( :(

~ Ewe Neek lambed finally!

Ewe Neek FINALLY lambed!! This will be our 2nd lambing of 2011!! She had some clear mucus around 10:00pm January 26th, 2011 at night. We had brought her back in the stall that is under where we sleep (around midnight). We all went to bed. Mom had been hearing lambs making noise in her sleep, and then woke up and realized that she was hearing Ewe Neek's lambs in the stall below her. She already had all the lambs out on the ground when we found her, but she had just had them. She had triplets (thankfully, otherwise the lambs would have been HUGE if there were only twins), one ewe and two rams. The sire to the lambs is Ames (our dairy ram), and the dam is Mary's Lil' Acre Ewe Neek. They were born Thursday, January 27th, 2011. The lambs would have most likely frozen if we did not put her in a stall, because it was 17 degrees this morning outside. Since the lambs sire is a wool breed and the lambs dam is a hair breed the lambs are part wool and part hair. That is why they look a little different:)

Baby Llama!!

Well, Thursday (January 6th, 2011) me and one of my sisters was loading hay. When we where done loading hay, my sister went to let the girls (does, ewes and the llama) out to pasture and she saw a foot sticking out of the llama!! Yikes! Our male llama left about 11 months ago, so he must've bred her right before he left! This was our first llama birth, but thankfully my sister read a fair amount online about llama births (and we have attended a TON of other animal births). She pushed his head and front feet out, and she let my sister come over and clean his nose off so he could breath. A few minutes later, she pushed the rest of him out. Normally the llama doesn't like us near her very much at all (unless we are feeding her grain!), but she let my sis clean him off and make him a bed of hay, because he was flopping *everywhere* and getting covered in dirt, which was kind of freaking us out a little!! Thankfully, my sister stayed pretty calm tho, because word had spread and several neighbors had come over to watch :)! Whenever we have an animal birth we often want to pull it out once the head has been there for a little bit. Llamas don't lick their babies (crias), so it was good that she let my sister help. Oh, yeah its a boy!

Baby goats!!

Well, it has been a long time since I have posted. We have been very busy on the ranch (as usual). One of our Nubian does, Free Spirit Rosemary (for short we call her "Rosie") had twin boys January 3rd, 2011. It was around 2am that we got up and checked on Rosie, and sure enough, she was pushing! After a little while, she pushed out a HUGE buckling... we did not weigh him, but I'm guessing he was a good 10 lbs. A little while later, she pushed out another buckling who came out back-feet first, which I think was easier since their heads and shoulders were so big! Thankfully, the second kid was not as big as the first. Their sire is our Boer buck, Ace. Rosie's dam is, Laports Mahogany Sage. The first buckling looks more like a boer and second buckling looks more like a Nubian.

4 new goats!!

Well guess what, we got some new goats. 4 beautiful Alpine/Nubian (Nupine) cross doe kids that were born early this year. Yes, they all have horns - but, they were just given to us (along with about 30 chickens) and they are really nice does so they are going to be a "project." My sister plans on using the banding method to remove their horns. Well, sorry for not posting for a long time. We have been really busy for the past few weeks. My oldest sister showed some rabbits at the Tulsa State Fair this past weekend. So, we went to the fair yesterday, it was pretty interesting there. There was one barn there that had tons of rabbits in it, in another barn there were a lot of cows, and in another barn there were many, many boer goats. In the same barn that the rabbits were in there was a mini petting zoo, and on the other side of the petting zoo there was a birthing center. The birthing center was VERY interesting, they had a live dog C-section going on in a room with glass walls and a video on the outside. They also had a section with a few goats and sheep that had birthed at the fair or were still pregnant.

Well, last month sometime our female brown llama (Peppercorn) died. For a few weeks

before she died we were trying to figure out what was wrong with her, because she was loosing weight and acting weird. The morning she died we let her and Salty, the other female llama, out to pasture. That night they did not come home, so we went looking for them and found them both out in the forest. After they were almost back Peppercorn fell over and started dying:( It was very sad to watch her die. Well, when we got them they both where in with a male llama, and we thought that she might be pregnant. So, after she had died my mom did a necropsy on her to see what was wrong with her, and sure enough she was pregnant with a black little male baby llama. The baby was not all the way developed, so she was not due to give birth for another month or so. Her heart was not in good shape at all.

Well, it has been a little while since I last posted. Everyone has been doing well, and surviving through the heat, it has been VERY hot out here in OK.

We now have 9 meat rabbits, 8 of them are Production Whites (1 adult buck, 1 adult doe, 1 almost 6 week old doe, and the other 5 I do not know if they are bucks or does yet, because they are only 1 day old), and 1 of them is a Champagne meat rabbit (its a doe).

On August 14th, Ms Merritt

kinddled to 9 little baby Production White rabbits. Four of them are alive, and the other 5 died:( Most likely, the intense heat we have been having played a part in their deaths. The people that we got the Production White rabbits from, usually tries to give her does rest in August and September, because thoughs are the hottest two months of the year usually.

Here is Bubbly our Champagne doe, she is about 4 months old. She is VERY sweet, every time I come to feed her or just come to her cage, she always comes right up to the front of her cage and wants me to pet her. She is supposed to be up eared but, the heat made the one ear go down.

Ewe Neek in heat!

On Tuesday (July, 27th) Ewe Neek came into heat. So, me and my mom went out to feed the dogs and shut everyone up out of pasture, and all the sheep were up except for Ewe Neek, she was down below the bucks pen. We shut her in a pen and I went over and got Ames, and put him in with her, and all that he did was smell her and lift his lip a little and then walk away. He just turned 5 months a few days ago, so I will give him a month or two to get a little more mature and then try again. So, we just put him back in with Clyde his buddy and the bucks.

He is getting SOO BIG! I don't have any updated pictures of him to post, but I'll try to get some good ones.

Dairy sheep

Yesterday morning (July 21st) at 10:am we picked up three Dairy sheep (a BIG thanks to Nancy Osborn), two of them are ewes and one is a ram. Both of the ewes are 4 years old, and the ram is a VERY big 5 month old ramling.

Malibu, she is over 90% East Friesian. She has had twins every time she has lambed. She has a very nice looking udder and is pretty big.

Lisa Ling (LL for short) is a 50%Hampshire/50%East Friesian. She has had triplets every time she has lambed. She is about the same size as Malibu. She also has a very nice looking udder, and is very nice.

Ames is a 1/3 Lacaune/2/3 East Friesian. He was born February 25th, 2010. He is just barely 5 months old and is VERY big!! He is a very nice looking boy, I can't wait to see what size he will get to being when he is full growen.

Updates

Well, I have not done a post for awhile so there are some things to update. Ok, on June 25th we got a baby llama from the Warren Livestock auction in Leach, OK. He is a male so we took him to a livestock vet in Siloam Springs, AR and had him gelded because we are going to use him as a guard llama along with our two other female llamas.

Sheep - All of the sheep are doing good, the lambs are getting SOO big. And, in June sometime one of our friend's Dorper sheep lambed to one little ewe lamb.

Armor - He has gotten a lot bigger too. He is doing good at staying with the goats that we have him with. Here are some pictures of the animals and a few random things around the ranch.

The new 16 sheep!

Well, yesterday we were given 16 sheep and a pot belly pig. There are six adult ewes, two adult rams, one 6 month old ramling, one wether, two five week old ramlings, two six week old ewelings, two five week old ewelings, and a pot belly pig. We were also given a half of a bag of sheep grain, a bottle of Iodine, a bag of Sheep Milk Replacer, a bottle of Cydectin sheep drench, three nipple tops that slip over a beer bottle top, and two big syringes. Here are pictures.

The red ewe is Cathy. She has the reddish ram lamb who was born on Jan 10th. She is probably bred to Clyde. She is probably about 2 weeks pregnant.

Cathy's 6 month old ramling. He is very nice looking.

The black and white ewe is related to and hangs with Cathy as a family-group. She is about a year and a half and has the black ram-lamb. He is 5 weeks old.

Her 5 week old ramling:

The barbados cross ewe with two lambs is Frosty. There is one ram and one ewe lamb. They are 5 weeks old. Frosty is the mother of the Ewe who is mostly white and looks like she is wearing a mask. Her name is Amy.

Amy was Frosty's lamb from a year ago. She has one ewe lamb who has two little spots on the back of her ears. Amy is a bit of an air-head and tends to wander off. She and Frosty hang together as a family-group.

The white ewe is Porche. She is about a year and a half. She has the all-white ewe lamb named Lexi. Lexi is 6 weeks old. Porche is fairly tame.

The barbados cross ewe with the one tan ewe lamb is Beatrice. She and Porche are the same age and hang together. Her lamb is also 6 weeks old.

The ram with the bum leg is Bobby. He broke the clavical (look it up) after we got him. He is about a year and a half. He is tame and once he gets to know you, he will probably let you scratch his ears.

Clyde is the white ram with the black eye. He is about a year and a half.

The castrated white male is about a year and a half.

THE NEW PUPPY, ARMOR!

Well, it rained here yesterday. All of the animals are doing very well, and are VERY fat and healthy, they can't even keep the pasture down, there is to much grass for them out there to eat, and not enough animals. We are hopefully getting 20 or more sheep, three of them are dairy sheep, more then six of them are registered Shetland sheep, and the rest we picked up on Thursday afternoon around 5:30, they are Painted Desert crosses. We got a new puppy yesterday. His name is Armor, he is a Anatolian/Great Pyrenees cross. Armor is only six weeks old, and is VERY cute!! We are keeping him in with our baby goats for a little while so that he can get used to the goats, and then he will know who he is supposed to stay with. Here are a few pictures of Armor.

The lady that we got her from has been raising these rabbits for 20 + years and has bred them so that they have a thinner coat of hair and so they can handle the Oklahoma humidity and heat a Lot better than other rabbits. When we got the doe she was supposed to be bred and due on June 1st, but she ended up being not bred. So my mom e-mailed the lady and she told us that she was going to give us a buck! We got him on June 6th, he is a very cute buck I think! Both the doe and the buck are very big (probably about 12 or so pounds). The buck is only about 2 years old and the doe I don't know. The bucks name is K-bar and the doe does not have a name yet. The lady that we got them from said that K-bar is a very good buck and that a lot of her herd is his offspring. We bred the doe yesterday (June 7th) and he got her 3 times, hopefully she takes! I will try to get some good pictures of both of them posted soon.

Self Sucking Goat!!

Well, it has been getting warmer every day it seems like! I have not posted for a little while now, because we have been kinda busy lately.

We got another goat! She is a registered Lamancha doe. Her name is Cricket, and she is a self-sucking first freshener yearling. She has a beautiful udder, but she only gives a very very little amount since she is drinking it all! She is from Mercy Farms, Thank you Joanne! Joanne talked about selling her, and my Mom said she'd like the "challenge" (of trying to make her not self-suck anymore), so we decided to get her. We went and picked her up on Thursday May 20th. So, we were trying to think of something to do to make it so that she did not self-suck anymore, we tried hot sauce on her teats and it did not work, we tried putting some kind of spray that your supposed to put on dog feet so they don't chew there feet and it did not work, we cut the bottom of a bucket off and tried putting it on her head like an E collor and it just fell off right away, than finelly we got ahold of a real E collor (not a bucket with no bottom) and put it on her neck up side down, than in the morning we were milking all of the goats and we put her up on the stand to milk her and her udder was SOOO tight it looked like it was going to pop, so we gave her grain and she ate all of her grain gone and gave us about a half of a gallon! When we took all of the goats back to there pen, she walked in the pen and went and got a drink! I don't think we have ever seen her get a drink until then! She is also a bit shy, but that'll just take a bit of time till she is friendly. Her registered name is MercyFarms MG Cricket.

Hay

Well today, me, my sister and my mom woke up this morning, milked the goats, and then our hay guy called and said he was leaving his house and heading this way with a truck load of hay. So, the 3 of us had to unload about 60 bales of nasty molded hay in the hot sweaty weather of Oklahoma. We were sweating and all nasty by the time we were done, it only took us a little bit though. Just what I wanted to do for my B-day! HAHA!
